Mr. Green

I´m green?

Hello friends, how are you? Today I’m going to write about a very important topic: The care of our environment. Nowadays everybody has been listened about global warming, and many organizations have been created to reduce the risk of this weather change, and many people with little daily actions try to contribute and reduce their carbon footprint. We can do some little actions to reduce our footprint, for example we can recycle, plant trees, don´t throw garbage on the floor, try to use less as possible the car, etc.

Guys biclycling in the city.
So, the question is How Green I am? Well, this is not an easy question. In first place I don’t like the term green to refer to the people who cares about the environment. For example so many companies, like coca cola, mc Donald, and others use the term green to express that they are ecologist, but certainly they are very polluting. If you want to help the environment, you are welcome, but not destroy the Amazonas please.

Every one leaves a carbon footprint, so the mission is to reduce as less possible this footprint. What do I? In my house we recycle plastics, paper and glasses and in my daily life I try to don’t throw garbage. I think that the earth is for everyone and we have to cooperate to take care of it.

I could use a car to come to University, but I prefer to use the bike, not only because it is not polluting, is more fun bicycling than driving. I’ve never been in any eco-organization, but I was scout long time, and we cared about the environment. Also we have a compost in the house to use the biodegradable garbage.
Santiago
I think that Santiago has to motivate the use of bicycle, making bikeways and educating the car drivers, because they, sometimes, doesnt know how to react where they drive near of a biker. And of course, Santiago has to improve the public system of transport, especially the subway.
Well. That was all by today.

See you and try to be friendly with the environment.

Mental health before birth?

Hello buddies, How are you? I hope you be fine.

A pregnant lady.
Well, today I’m going to write a summary about a news that I read. What it is about? It was about an study about the influence of the depression in the pregnancy of the mother on the baby. This study suggest that the high level of the cortisol, the hormone responsible of the stress, may affect the development of the foetus, and the kid could be more susceptible to devolop a depression in the adolescence.

This studio was published in a leading medical journal. Was developed in Bristol University in England.
The experts called to present more attention to this kind of research and be more careful with depressed pregnant womens because it could be a very good indicator to predict a future depression in her son.
By other way, this research indicate that the depression in the father could doesn't affect the future mental health of his children.

A sad baby
But no all is the pregnant, the depression in the mother on the post natal increases the possibility in her son to get a depression in the adolescence, so it is very important to care about the mother after and before the pregnancy if she is depressed.

The experts said that this study it is important because gives the possibility to predicts and heal the depression even before the birth. This research, finally, proves that the mental health begins before we used to think.
Congratulations to the investigators.

See you next week.

A nice place that I would like to visit

Fuerte San Fernando in Cartagena.

Hello everybody, this is my first post and I am Johnny smokes (Johnny for the friends). Well, the first topic that I want to write it’s about travelling.
I think that travel is one of the funniest things of the life and I really enjoy travelling.  I’ve been in so many places and countries, but I’ve never been in Colombia, and I would like to travel there. Why I want to go there? Well, I remember when I was younger, I was watching television in my home and I saw a commercial inviting to travel to Colombia, it looked so beautiful. Then I started to search information about Colombia in Google and it looked great.

Colombia is a south american country, borders with Venezuela, Ecuador, Brazil, Panamá and Perú. The capitol and the most populated city is Bogotá. This country is characterized by their culture; Botero and García Márquez are proud colombians. Colombia has beautiful beaches, like Cartagena de Indias, but also has part of the Amazonas; the Magdalena River is the most important.
García Márquez house, in Aracataca.
If I were there, I would like to visit the jungle, the beaches and García Márquez house in Aracataca, and, of course, I would like to dance cumbia with a colombian girl.

I've been heard that Colombia it’s a not very safe country (because the narcotraffic, I think) That’s why I don’t know if I would be there for so much time, but who knows? If I go there may be that I stay to live.

Well, that was my first post. See you the next week.

Greetings for colombian people.

PD: I leave you a colombian song.
